Recycling Manufacturing company, part of a global group employing over 48000 staff, is looking for a Reliability Support Engiineer, at its recycled paper Process Mill in north Birmingham. Reliability Engineer Summary
- To assist with Site Reliability Manager on all Site Reliability Programs ensuring the Preventative/ predictive/proactive Maintenance Strategies are tailored for within the business requirements.
- To ensure that the business is pushing best practice in all aspects of modern maintenance techniques
- Forward thinking strategic planning to keep site on the forefront of Uptime performance
- Assist with development of reliability team members
- Train engineering team on reliability tools and techniques
- Drive best practice within the engineering stores and procurement
- To return business assets back to standard
Reliability Support Engineer responsibilities:
- Ensure H&S always comes first with clear Risk Assessments applied to all maintenance tasks
- Work with the Reliability team to develop projects to assist with securing financial approvals, resource commitment, facilities and equipment
- Create clear statistical PM’s with visual standards to address failure modes
- Carry out Gap Analysis on each individual asset identify missing critical spares & align to BOM
- Identify obsolete parts and find equivalents, link to BOM
- Plan both shut and non-shut work ensuring that all necessary parts and resources are available so that the task can be completed in the most efficient manner (4M’s Man Method Material Machine)
- Work closely with the Maintenance team to ensure effective communication and support with regard to the program goals and objectives.
- Work closely with the Opex Leader to provide support and guidance to the operational Team and Area Owners with regard to the performance and adherence of new business process and practices.
- Management of on/off site equipment (Rolls, Rotors , motors etc )
- Monitor analytical tools ( PI, SKF VA) to provide reports to prevent predict breakdowns
- To use analytical techniques to determine route causes and frequency of failure
- In the event of machine failure use process knowledge, skill and documented procedures to ensure work is carried out in a safe and controlled manner
- Participates in basic FMEA analysis ( Critical list )
- Develop reaction plans in conjunction with FMEA
- Develop business reliability process task with clear roles and responsibilities .
- Participates in Asset Prioritization consequence grid development and asset prioritization sessions. (Through pareto analysis)
- Analyse weekly down time reports and create Pareto’s to identify high risks including repeatable issues weekly
- Assist with the development of SOPS for critical reliability/engineering tasks
- Assist with development of S,P,C ( standards, process, control) inline with SOP creation
- Create work scopes for minimum standards of work required
- Obtain quotes for spares and works requested
- Generate Purchase orders aligned quotes
- Escalate issues to Reliability Manager
- Carry out maintenance task analysis removing none value adding work
- Streamline SAP PM work orders by conducting annual reviews ensuring that the right balance exists between work order generation and admiration burden
- Has full understanding of the asset prioritization assessment results and the developed program implementation plan.
- Assist with/ lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Works with the subject matter experts to develop maintenance strategies of the chosen system/asset.
- Develop Asset BOM’s and systemise through SA
- Work alongside and drive procurement of asset critical spares
- Act as stand in for Reliability Manager
- To adapt any changes to new technology
Candidates must have GCSE's or equivalent at grade C or above to include Maths and English, with relevant electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications and associated experience.
