About this job role
This role is a servant leader and coach for a team of Agile squads (Agile Release Train/Tribe/Platform) whom are working towards building new products, common capabilities and enablers. The purpose of this role is to facilitate alignment and planning readiness by driving cross-squad synthesis of the Vision, Roadmap, and Backlogs, and encourages collaboration across the squads to help ensure strategy and execution alignment.
Working closely with other tribe RTEs to map dependencies and deliver end to end functionality. Co-ordinate with testing leads to plan testing, responsible for managing delivery to live with release managers. Drive improvement with new ideas processes to accelerate CIOs move to an agile organization.
Delivery accountability spans from managing pre-Program Increment Planning readiness, through to post-Program Increment retrospectives and improvement planning. Drives lean-agile mindsets and practices, fostering collaboration and enhanced employee experience.
Main responsibilities
- Coordination across squads to deliver large scale technology development through technical releases to support quarterly Business Goals
- Summarises tribe objectves and publishes them for visibility and transparency.
- Support Tribe Lead and Squad leadership in the shaping and prioritisation of the backlog in readiness for quarterly delivery Program increments
- Plan and facilitate quarterly Program Increment Planning events
- Facilitate periodic synchronisation meetings including Scrum of scrums and Product Owner (PO) sync; system and solution demos
Main skills/experiences required
- Solid understanding of lean Agile delivery practices with awareness of major frameworks (i.e. SAFe, LeSS, Spotify) with ability to lead collaborative agile ways of working and effectively manage changing priorities
- Must be able lead and take ownership of proactively solving technical delivery problems across squads that are multiplatform wide, impacting multiple services or cross Tribes/Business areas
- Be able to manage long term changes and adapting the Tribe/Release Train in line with business needs of frequent customer centric, high quality and low cost product delivery
- Strong experience in leading team of 5+ people (either direct or matrix)
- Stakeholder Communication: Experience in communicating to senior leadership team with view to collaborative decision making
- Technical Delivery: Proven successful delivery track record on complex, high-profile technology enablers and/or programmes that cross multiple domains/teams
