Who?
Lloyds Banking Group is the UK’s largest Digital, Retail and Commercial Bank with a focus on Helping Britain Prosper. We’re on the mission to build the bank of the future, and we need your help do it! Continuing our extensive transformation programme, we're redefining what a bank is from the inside out. Our technology, our culture, and our mind-set is changing to craft a true engineering-led organisation.
The Role
The role of Release Manager within the Data Content Services Lab is to enable our teams to move new developments to the production environments as quickly, simply and safely as possible. Working with all teams within the Lab, the Release Manager is key to improving our day-to-day release processes so that we can deliver benefits to customers quickly, while assuring our code is robust and supportable in production.
As a Release Manager you will work in a dedicated Release team that works with the Development and BAU Support teams to deploy releases into Production, and acts as the gatekeeper to help ensure these releases are robust, stable and supportable.
We are focused on removing mundane repeatable work within the DCS Lab, and therefore we are driving up the adoption of automation in the Lab, particularly in the areas of testing and deployment, so you will be key to promoting DevOps and automation within the Lab as part of how we release code and assure the quality thereof. You will be key to shaping and improving our end-to-end deployment processes as well as helping to embed better ways of doing things.
You will have the opportunity to help shape our deployment processes as we migrate our technology stack from on-prem into Google Cloud Platform (GCP), so this is a great time to be joining us on our journey.
The role is not specifically a technical role but a high-level familiarity of technology will help to understand issues and opportunities as well as facilitating communications with the technical development and support teams. The key technologies we work with are Hadoop (EDH), Teradata and TWS.
Role responsibilities
  • Release Planning - release slots, plans, calendars and clash management
  • Governance of Releases and CR process
  • Design and implementation of release and deployment policies, processes and procedures
  • Tracking, reporting and analysis
  • Incident and Problem Management
  • Gatekeeper to ensure quality of releases
  • Service Now Governance
  • Communications within the Lab
  • Liaising with the development team, IT Support Teams, Change Management and incident teams

Good for someone who likes
  • Problem solving
  • Managing technical delivery
  • Continuously improving
  • Collaborating with and helping others

What you'll get in return!
You’ll join us in building a 21st century bank, and craft an inclusive culture where all colleagues feel encouraged and valued.
We're committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve, and to building an inclusive environment. We support the principles of agile working, we're an equal opportunity employer and deeply value diversity within our organisation.
So, if you have the experience we’re seeking then get in touch, we’d love to hear from you.
Together we make it possible.
At Lloyds Banking Group, we're driven by a clear purpose; to help Britain prosper. Across the Group, our colleagues are focused on making a difference to customers, businesses and communities. With us you'll have a key role to play in shaping the financial services of the future, whilst the scale and reach of our Group means you'll have many opportunities to learn, grow and develop.
We're focused on creating a values-led culture and are committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve. Together we’re building a truly inclusive workplace where all of our colleagues have the opportunity to make a real difference.
