As a Barclays Relationship Manager, you will manage, develop, and grow a portfolio of approximately 50 customers each with a turnover of between £6.5 and £50m or having debt requirements less than £1m. This will be done through the development of Barclaycard Commercial Payments product and service solutions. You will manage multiple stakeholders at a senior level, and you will be viewed as the internal expert for your customer’s requirements, developing awareness and driving opportunities through to live deals.

What will you be doing?
• Establishing sound commercial proposals to retain and fully develop client and prospect base, whilst being aware of immediate, medium, and long-term revenue / profit goals
- Identifying /owning / developing a pipeline of profitable / multi-market / multi-product business revenue opportunities with existing clients and managing this pipeline to execution
- Managing customer contracts and rebates, ensuring timely and governant engagement with internal pricing and finance teams
- Ensuring short-, medium- and long-term customer plans are in place, customer needs/issues are pro-actively identified and appropriate solutions developed
- Facilitating discussions and negotiations with clients on commercial, operational, technical, marketing, industry, and management information issues
- Maximizing share of customer / prospect commercial payment spend by pro-actively evaluating gaps, focusing on needs assessment, and identifying new solution propositions
- Acting as point with the Corporate Bank for your customer or prospect relationship (banked or otherwise) within Barclaycard Commercial Payments
- Assessing the impact of industry changes, adapting to the changing payments landscape, and making key recommendations to retain and grow your customer relationships
• High level of communication skills, including interactive listening to negotiate with key stakeholders at a senior level (internally / externally) to drive profitability with Tier 1 clients
- Experience in driving business development through strategic influence of key stakeholders, eye for complex requirements / tenacity to drive forward and create solutions
- Full and extensive knowledge of the Business-to-Business payments industry with the ability to build credibility and robust client relationships at all levels
- Extensive knowledge of global industry trends and extensive knowledge of the impact that regulatory / scheme changes can have on a client’s performance and future strategic direction
• Proven Account / Business Development track record
- Understanding of P&L drivers
- Full Driving Licence
