This exciting opportunity will be based in the Registration Service. This service is delivered through a Births & Deaths Team which delivers statutory Birth and Death registration and includes the centralised copy certificate production, and a Ceremonies Team which delivers civil ceremonies and citizenship ceremonies.

Your day-to-day role will be supporting the Registration Service, this will range from:
- Assisting the registration officers ushering during ceremonies (Weddings, Civil Partnerships and non-statutory ceremonies)
- Communicate face to face with customers in a professional, courteous and appropriate manner.
- Working across different floors of the Ceremony venue, setting up rooms for ceremonies and resolving minor maintenance issues.
- Opportunities to work across ceremony office across West Sussex (i.e.) Chichester, Worthing or Horsham

About The Job
Salary: £10.79 to £10.98 hourly rate (£12.09 to £12.31 with annual leave entitlement) with entitlement to claim for Crawley Weighting Allowance for each hour worked.
Working Pattern: Casual Hours (Wednesday to Saturday) Hours typically from in between 09:00 to 18:00 - shifts are dependent on volume of cemomories.

Experience and Skills
Key Skills:
- Literacy and numeracy skills in order to understand complex written instructions describing tasks, type documents or take complex messages.
- General IT skills including Word and Excel (or equivalent packages) for word processing, data processing, creating basic presentations, maintaining basic computer databases and production of straightforward statistical data etc.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills in order to provide clear and concise advice and guidance to a range of clients, including the ability to provide receptionist duties in an appropriate manner.
- Ability to interpret information, such as service complaints, and then redirect them to the appropriate person to provide quick and accurate resolution.
- Ability to plan over the short term in order to organise resource bookings, monitor stationery orderings and coordinate FOI requests.
Qualifications and/or experience:
- 4 GCSEs with A-C passes including Maths and English or equivalent qualification or experience demonstrating that level of numeracy and literacy.
- European Computer Driving Licence, or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Previous experience of working in an office environment. Desirable
