Are you Registered Nursing Associate looking for a new challenge working with children and young people? If so this job could be for you! We have an exciting new vacancy in our Paediatric Assessment Unit.
The post holder will work independently to promote health and prevent ill-health, implement evidence-based care and under the guidance and support of a registered professional will deliver advanced care responsibilities and therapy as delegated by a registered nurse.
Provide outstanding standard of safe, family and patient centred, holistic and focused advanced care , for an identified group or caseload of patients, in consultation with the patient, relatives and the multidisciplinary team.
You will be well supported to develop in your role by our PDN and have the opportunity to develop.
The post will require you to have a basic understanding of child development and the importance of play; excellent communication skills are a must to be able to interact with children of varying ages. Experience of working with children and young people in an acute setting is preferable.
If you are able to prioritize your own work load, build good relationships with staff as well as children and young people and can rise to the challenge of working within a diverse and ever changing environment, we are waiting to hear from you.
Please note -Applicants must also hold a Nursing Associate qualification, be eligible to work in the UK and must be registered as a Nurse Associate with the NMC.

Our paediatric team provides comprehensive services.
Our PAU is now located next to our band new Paediatric A&E, and is also a brand new welcoming environment. It is a 11 bedded 24hr facility used for the assessment and treatment of children who require urgent medical care.
Starlight ward is a 16 bedded unit. It takes a variety of admissions ranging from surgical, orthopaedic, oncology, haematology and various other conditions for children and young people aged 0-16 years old.
PDAU (Paediatric Day Assessment Unit)is located within the Children’s Outpatient Department and provides a service Monday- Friday 8am-6pm. Our unit has well established links to tertiary centres and we provide elective care for children with a variety of oncology ,hematology, immunology, endocrine, rheumatology and gastro-intestinal conditions.
We have 2 dedicated PDN's and a robust and comprehensive continuing professional development plan for all our staff. We link with our NCL colleagues to provide evidence based practice on critical care, networking on guidelines, policies and education. We are committed to providing safe, evidence-based care to our patients and we ensure this by maintaining our staff’s personal and professional development.
