JOB The County of Riverside-Riverside University Health System - Public Health is recruiting to fill multiple Full-Time and Per Diem Registered Nurse positions within the department. Programs that are currently accepting applications include California Children's Services, Disease Control, and Public Health Nursing. Vacancies within this recruitment can be from multiple branches within Public Health.Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree and the ability to obtain a Public Health Nursing Certificate. A multidisciplinary team composed of a physician, Public Health Nurses (PHN), Health Services Assistants (HSA), a health care social worker and clerical staff strive to meet the medical as well as the psychological needs of the patients diagnosed with TB. The TB PHN is responsible for the coordination of care.California Children's Services (CCS) is a statewide program that provides case management and authorization of specialized treatment services for children ages birth to 21 years old with serious health conditions. At CCS Riverside, staff members determine medical and financial eligibility, provide authorizations for services requested by hospitals and vendors, collaborate with other resources, and annually review each child for ongoing services to provide the best care/treatment possible.The County of Riverside Department of Public Health's (DOPH) vision is to excel at building healthy communities and its mission is to promote and protect the health of all county residents and visitors. To accomplish this mission, DOPH oversees fourteen (14) Branches and administers more than thirty (30) programs. All programs, services and activities are organized around the 10 Essential Services of Public Health. DOPH works in partnership and in many cases under contract with other County Departments including Environmental Health, Animal Services, Mental Health, Public Social Services, Office on Aging and the Health Care System to prevent disease and protect the health of County residents. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Performs professional nursing duties in the care and services of patients and their families in an acute care facility, a health care clinic or home, mental health facility, or Department of Health program; assists physicians and carries out their orders; and performs other related duties as required. May be responsible for oversight, development, implementation, and coordination of special programs, services, and education in the health care setting.The objective of this series is to establish a career ladder, which provides for professional growth through the performance of increasingly responsible and complex assignments and to recognize professional development and expertise attained through education and experience.Incumbents in the fifth level of this series demonstrate exceptional expertise within a specialty area or multiple specialty areas and serve as resource persons in the specialty areas to staff and administration. Responsibilities are further expanded to include assignments in training needs assessment, in-service training, problem solving clinical and administrative issues and standardizing related policies and procedures. To serve in the absence of the nurse manager or supervisor in charge of the department or facility as needed, and to supervise, preceptor and mentor staff who have been assigned to the unit.
