Salford Care Organisation, part of the Northern Care Alliance has an opportunity for a Tissue Viability Nurse to join our integrated Tissue Viability Team.If you are passionate about delivering high quality care and are committed to improving outcomes for patients then this post is your chance to make a real difference to the patients of Salford and the care they receive.
You will be required to provide expert advice on wound management, pressure ulcer prevention and leg ulcer management. You will visit patients in a hospital or community settings (clinics, patients' own homes, residential or nursing homes etc.) according to the service's requirements, and it is essential that you are a car driver and own/have access to a car.
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support the reduction in incidence of pressure ulcers and improve safety practices in relation to tissue viability across the organisation and will be involved in the incident reporting/investigation of pressure ulcer development.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with various individuals and groups on complex potentially stressful topics in a range of situations.
- Develop knowledge and practice in the field of Tissue Viability.
- Monitor and maintain health, safety and security of self and others in own work area.
- Contribute to the development of services.
- Contribute to the delivery of education to staff members.
- Contribute to quality improvement.
- Promote people’s equality, diversity and rights.
- Assess and address people’s health and wellbeing needs when those needs are complex and change across the caseload.
- Develop practice in addressing individuals' health and wellbeing needs.
- Lead others in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practice
- Assist with research and development
Home to the Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences, Greater Manchester Trauma Hospital and the Geoffrey Jefferson Brain Research Centre, Salford is improving care for some of the sickest patients in the region, and delivers a range of acute, community and primary care services and specialist services to Greater Manchester and beyond.
