Job description
NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
We have a vacancy for a part time Staff Nurse in Ward 112 Haematology Inpatients. We provide highly specialised care for patients with a range of haematological conditions. The care is varied, busy and highly rewarding with patients receiving high intensity chemotherapy, stem cell transplantation, supportive and holistic care and acutely unwell unscheduled care. Staff in this friendly and supportive team develop a wide range of nursing skills and knowledge. The Anchor Unit as a whole is sociable, fast moving and progressive; actively supporting and promoting nurse led activities, development and further study; offering excellent opportunities for both professional and personal development.
The candidate is required to work 12 hour shifts and be willing to work day and night duty. The successful candidate will be required to provide a high standard of person centred care to individuals and be forward thinking with regards to change management.
Whilst some haematology/oncology experience is desirable it is not essential. It is a requirement that the successful candidate if not currently on the SACT register undertakes a chemotherapy module, there is training, funding and support provided to undertake this.
