An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic registered nurse within the dermatology cancer team.
The successful candidate will be joining a specialist dermatology team for cancer care. You will be based within the dermatology outpatients setting at the treatment centre.

Be professional and legally accountable for all aspects of own work as an autonomous practitioner.
Undertake evidence based highly comprehensive assessment and treatment of patients including those with complex presentation, including psychological information, using investigative and analytical skills having a flexible approach to the delivery of care. Including new referrals from Primary Care.
Direct fundamental and advanced nursing duties within local policies, procedures and guidelines reporting to the Consultant Nurse for Skin Cancer.
Prepare and manage face to face skin cancer clinics to meet department demand to give diagnosis and treatment advice whilst practicing within the guidelines.
Directs and develops systems and models of nursing advanced nursing practice and evidence based care which contribute to the quality of the patients' experience.
Contributes to performance management through the efficient delivery of fundamental and advanced nursing care.
Works as part of the skin cancer multi-disciplinary team dealing with and relaying complex and sensitive information to both patients and colleagues
Contribute to quality improvement within the department and strategically.
Continuously develops clinical and managerial skills and knowledge within the clinical speciality.
Person specification
Training & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Master’s degree or equivalent in a Health related subject
- Evidence of post graduate study
- RN Level 1
- Evidence of continued professional development
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant experience within dermatology.
- Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of a wide range of approached to the management of patients
- Advanced clinical assessment and decision making skills
- Must possess a proven track record and have demonstrable formal research expertise, knowledge and skills
- Experience of managing clinical services, service innovation and up-to-date knowledge of nursing policy and strategy,
Desirable criteria
- Experience of joint working with academic institutions ensuring the development of research programmes within the workplace
- Evidence of practically applied appropriate extended scope practitioner skills

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
