We currently have an exciting opportunity to join theChildren’s Community Nursing Teamin our Children’s Health and Development Division. We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiasticChildren’s Community Nurse (Band 5)who islooking to develop their skills in the largest community healthcare trust in London
The post holder will work within the Children’s Community Nursing Team, visiting children in the community with a wide range of conditions, with the aim of reducing hospital admissions and attendances. The role will include nursing care, training, and supporting families, and supporting and mentoring student nurses.
The team provides a service to children and young people aged 0 – 18 years and works across the 3 London Boroughs of Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham, and Westminster. The team works closely with colleagues in Primary Care, hospitals, social services, and education.
This post is 37.5 hours per week, worked flexibly over 7 days a week. It offers a great opportunity for a qualified children’s nurse to develop skills and experience in community nursing. The organisation is supportive of training needs and there is an excellent mandatory training and education programme. You will also receive regular clinical supervision and safeguarding supervision.
You will need to be passionate about children’s nursing, enjoy working as a team as well as being an autonomous practitioner.
To work as part of the Children’s Community Nursing Team, providing nursing care primarily within a child’s home, school and nursery, ensuring the delivery of evidenced based care to children and their families or carers, in conjunction with the Children’s Community Team Leads.

- To participate in the assessment, planning and provision of skilled nursing care in negotiation with the child and family, in conjunction with the Children’s Community Team Leads
- To provide skilled, effective, evidenced based nursing care for children with complex care needs including technology dependent such as tracheostomy care and central venous access.
- To provide skilled, effective, evidenced based nursing care for children with a variety of nursing needs, such as enteral feeding, and intra-venous antibiotic administration.
- To work in a collaborative manner with other agencies to ensure a seamless delivery of care to families
- To provide information and support to facilitate the child’s and family’s own choices with regards to nursing care
