About the Trust
Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, rated ‘Good’ in their most recent CQC report, provides high quality care for a population of 500,000 across three hospitals, local bases and within the community. Parking and bus transport links are available at all three hospitals. With a world-famous National Spinal Injuries Centre, quality stroke service and a regional centre for burns and plastics, the Trust also supports the provision of high-quality NHS and industry research in areas including: Cancer, Cardiology, Diabetes, Gastroenterology, Maternity, Ophthalmology and Paediatric studies.
Popular shift patterns are available, such as 07.30 – 15.30 and 20.45 – 07.45 (e.g., short-shifts during school hours can be discussed).
What you’ll be responsible for
- Assessing and monitoring patient conditions
- Checking symptoms and vital signs and arranging diagnostic tests
- Recognising, responding to, and managing emergency situations
- Plan, deliver and evaluate standards of evidence-based nursing care
- Administering intravenous drips or different types of medication
- Recognising deterioration in the physical or mental condition of a patient and taking appropriate action / escalation
- Checking and using specialised equipment such as monitors and ventilators
- Displaying excellent analytical ability and sound decision making in changing clinical situations
- Recognising limitations and escalating concerns
You’ll have the following qualification/experience:
· A minimum of 6 months paid experience in an A&E hospital environment within the last 3 years
· Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices
· Ensure accurate records are kept in accordance with CHS policy and NMC guidelines
· Undertake regular mandatory training*
*Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.
