Job summary
Consumers of immigration advice and services are often among the most vulnerable and disadvantaged members of society. That is why the work at the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) is so critical as the non-government body that regulates the provision of immigration advice and services, ensuring they meet stringent professional standards.
We have an ambitious and wide-ranging transformation programme underway dedicated to putting the Advice Seeker at the heart of all our work. A newly formed regional structure is a key tenet of this programme, enabling us to be closer and engage more effectively with the partners we regulate across the country.
We are looking for two organised and proactive individuals with excellent communication skills to play to play a crucial role in supporting our regional teams to achieve their objectives. One of these dedicated and motivated individuals will support our Northern Team and the other our Central Team. A map is included with this adverts showing the areas each of these teams are responsible for.
These are both part-time roles and the exact hours and work patterns are to be agreed.
Job description
- Key responsibilities
- Liaising with the Customer Service Unit to allocate tasks to the regional team.
- Responding promptly to enquiries and actionable work.
- Providing administrative assistance to Regional Directors and Operating Managers.
- Assisting with meeting management and preparation of meeting papers.
- Overseeing the risk assessment process and audit bookings.
- Supporting travel and accommodation arrangements for audits, meetings, and court hearings.
- Assisting with regional engagement objectives.
- Offering support during engagement visits.
- Assisting in monitoring work progress and quality assurance systems.
- Producing reports from the OISC case management system.
- Maintaining and updating adviser details and template letters.
- Performing compliance checks on advisers' websites.
- Ensuring accurate storage of documents and data.
- Assisting with data requests and reporting.

Person specification
Essential criteria:
- Good organisational skills.
- Good communication with experience in responding to queries verbally and in writing
Desirable criteria:
- Experience of using a case management system to store and retrieve information and produce reports.
- Knowledge of basic compliance processes.
- Experience in meeting and /or diary administration.
- Experience booking travel and accommodation and dealing with central suppliers.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Living in the OISC Region that you are allocated to.

Location:
- OISC now has no permanent offices. All staff are based at their home address with regular face to face meetings of teams and the whole organisation monthly, at appropriate venues;
- The jobholder will be based at their home address which must be within the United Kingdom. It will be beneficial to live in the OISC Region that you are allocated to;
- Occasional Travel across the United Kingdom to attend in person team and office meetings will be required.
