The need to establish strong and effective links with schools and colleges both locally and on a wider national basis underpins the work of the School and College Engagement Team and is essential in supporting the University achieve its recruitment aspirations both in the short and long term. Sheffield Hallam University is looking for and experienced and creative staff to support the creation of our growing student recruitment team, to work in school and colleges engagement in target regions across the country. You will be working as one of several Senior Student Recruitment Engagement Officers who are all responsible for co-ordinating the relationships with school and colleges either locally or within designated geographic regions, delivering engagement activities that meet the needs and objectives of Sheffield Hallam Academic Colleges, and that of the wider University. You will also be responsible for leading and motivating a team of staff delivering engagement activity both in schools and colleges and occasionally within the University, whilst also identifying opportunities for maintaining and growing institutional engagement with targeted feeder institutions. You will be responsible for working with colleagues from across the institution (particularly within Marketing, Customer Insight, Admissions, Student Access, and Educational Partnership Team) to develop an offer for schools and colleges that is innovative, creative, effective, ensuring it meets both the institutions recruitment and access objectives. You will also be an active member of the Student Recruitment Engagement Management Team ensuring the service meets the expectations set out in its operational plan. Successful applicants will demonstrate a commitment to raising the aspirations, awareness and in highlighting opportunities available at university to prospective students and key influencers, particularly at Sheffield Hallam University. This will include working with teachers, advisors, and parents/carers as well as student groups. Candidates will be proven excellent communicators and are confident speaking to small and large groups of students, as well as with senior staff from a school or college. Candidates will be mainly home based and will be required to work within the M1/A1 corridor in East Midlands South (Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire). You will also be required to visit Sheffield Hallam University Campus at least once per month and for other events as required (i.e. Open Days, Clearing, etc). You will also need to be able, and are willing, to work occasional evenings and are able to independently travel around the region as required. NB: applicants will be provided access to hire cars to fulfil the requirements of the role which means candidates are able to drive and are confident in doing so occasionally at night and on motorways.
