Job Description
As Operations Manager you will be responsible for achieving world class safety and service standards. You will create an environment of positive and proactive engagement with the driver workforce, demonstrating behaviours in line with the Company Values. You will provide support and guidance to all direct reports, ensuring the cost-effective utilisation of all drivers and equipment. You will be responsible for monitoring expenditure and local operational parameters and will proactively identify improvement possibilities. With the assistance of the Contract Manager and the fleet team you will pro-actively ensure all resources are in place in order to deliver world class service performance.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
- Proven managerial experience within a busy Transport Operations.
- Management CPC or related Transport qualifications
- Have managed within a Unionised environment.
- You will be able to work well under pressure and manage your own workload to achieve objectives.
- You will demonstrate the highest standards of integrity, leadership and fairness at all times and be able to effectively coach, manage and motivate staff to reach their full potential.
- Comfortable working towards performance measures on combined safety, service, cost / efficiency performance and driver attrition.
