This role will be home based and will involve travel across our sheltered houses based in Nottinghamshire, West Midlands, Northamptonshire and Gloucestershire. The main purpose of this role is to lead and develop the provision of sustainable sheltered housing accommodation for elderly residents across a broad property portfolio, in line with relevant legislation and regulations, and Abbeyfield’s mission and values. You'll need significant knowledge and experience working in a sheltered housing, health or social care environment, together with an understanding of national health and social care strategy for older people. You should be able to manage multiple stakeholder expectations simultaneously, by balancing competing interests against overarching business need.
Here's a summary of what this role entails:
Sheltered Housing Accommodation Service Delivery
Ensure sufficient resources are in place to enable effective and consistent sheltered housing accommodation provision across the area property portfolio.
Stakeholder Reputation Management
Develop and sustain productive working relationships with local authorities, local community groups and other housing charities, and ensure delivery of coherent marketing activity to enhance the reputation of provision.
Income & Expenditure Management
Ensure processes in place to secure optimum rental income through maximising space occupancy. Support local managers minimise resident debt. Oversee staff costs; ensure effective management of staff budgets.
People Management
Lead a team of geographically dispersed Sheltered Housing Managers (SHMs). Ensure clarity of purpose and managers have the capabilities to secure high levels of engagement and motivation from housing staff.
Compliance, Risk Management & Quality Assurance
Ensure that the Houses comply fully with all relevant regulations, internal Abbeyfield policies and processes, and oversee delivery of effective internal audit programme to secure high levels of compliance.
Service Development
Identify opportunities to bring in additional service provision within the existing portfolio, and contribute to the commissioning of new schemes.
