Role Overview:

As Regional Facilities Manager, you will carry out operational and administrative duties to ensure the Apex property portfolio meets all current property related legislative statutory compliance regulations. You will also maintain the building fabric and embedded systems to an exceptional standard, whilst providing hands-on support across the FM department. You should be a people person, who enjoys recruiting, appraising and developing your team to champion the overall success of our FM team in Scotland. Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Ensure the Apex property portfolio meets all property related compliance regulations
  • Undertake line management of Lead Maintenance Engineers in consultation with Hotel GMs, whilst showing a strong presence within each hotel to provide highly visible support
  • Act as subject matter experts in the fields of electrical (and/or mechanical) engineering maintenance
  • Work closely with hotel GM’s or their appointed deputy to ensure the overall quality of hotel upkeep and maintenance delivery
  • Assist in the recruitment process (shortlist, interview, selection and induction) and actively lead the development of Lead Engineers by utilising Personal Development Plans
  • Ensure energy saving initiatives are identified and in place to limit and reduce each hotels environmental impact
  • Assist in the formulation of Capital Expenditure applications, detailing project requirement, specification, scope together and costing calculations
  • Monitor, manage an utilise CAFM, but also use it as a basis for maintenance and team strategies
  • Act as HS responsible person for the regional maintenance function (NEBOSH Certificate required)
  • Ensure that a healthy and safe environment exists for all team members, hotel staff, visitors and guests

  • Previous experience in a Facilities Manager (multi-site) role is essential
  • Proactive approach to all building and fabric activity, reporting and fixing any defects
  • Able to carry out CAFM daily maintenance, scheduling and inventory stock control
  • Solid understanding of all Statutory certification for commercial properties and the ability to document effectively to aid audit
  • A really positive attitude with a genuine passion for leadership and team development
