Regatta (Festival) Event Stewards
Henley Regatta Tuesday 27th June to Sunday 2nd July 2023
£10.90 per hour
Regatta is a six-day event set in the grounds of Phyllis Court Club, on the banks of the River Thames.
Stewards are what keep Regatta running, helping control crowds, directing attendees to the right location, pointing out amenities, and creating a happy, vibrant atmosphere.
You will maintain the image of the public areas, clearing glasses, plates and cutlery inside and out to the dedicated wash up areas. The role involves walking, standing, and bending, but may also involve lifting and carrying heavy items.
The role is very hands on, so a can do, and proactive approach is essential and forms part of our One Team ethos.
CRITERIA
- You must be at least 18 years of age to apply for this role.
- You must be available for work for the full 7-day period between 27th June and 3rd July 2023 early shifts starting as early as 09.00am and late shifts ending as late as midnight.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide excellent customer service and provide assistance to customers at the event.
- Assisting as necessary with the movement of equipment or materials during set up and break down of events.
- Ensure the health and well-being of all customers.
- Using communication equipment, if required, in accordance with Phyllis Court guidelines.
- Act in a professional manner at all times whilst representing Phyllis Court Club.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURS YOU WILL NEED
- Ability to lift, carry and stand on your feet for 8 to 10 hours each day.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work long hours.
- Ability to work as a team in a public facing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Ensure a smart image and appearance at all times, adhering to the standards of dress policy.
- Ability to make balanced decisions and keep calm in an emergency situation.
- Ability to use initiative and work independently without direct supervision.
UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS
Black trousers, white dress shirt or blouse, black socks and sensible black shoes for duration of Regatta.
