Job details
We currently have an exciting opportunity within the waste and recycling team for a Recycling Waste Manager.
We are looking for an experienced manager to join the waste team to help shape the future delivery of the council's waste collection services. You will be part of a team of 3 managers working to develop the waste collection services, leading a team of 30 staff, while putting our residents at the heart of what we do.
The successful candidate will be commercially minded, politically aware and able to demonstrate operational management experience. You will be a self-motivated individual with a business approach that is geared to meet the financial challenges ahead, with the aim of delivering the service in the most cost-effective way.
It is essential you have proven people skills and customer service skills, together with the ability to apply pragmatic and logical thinking to challenges as they arise. You will be required to work collaboratively across services within the council, external partners, and other agencies.
The waste and recycling service is going through a rapid change process that requires imaginative, inspirational leaders to shape its delivery.
