About the opportunity: Performance Insights has come to play an integral role in football; we are continuing to consider how we gain a competitive edge on and off the pitch. We feel that by enhancing our provisions within insights, through data and video analysis, we evolve the identification of footballing talent, build tools for player profiling, and drive the analytical capabilities within the Club. Because of this, we now have a unique and exciting opportunity for a Recruitment Data Analyst to join our Men’s First Team Performance Insights Department at Finch Farm.
As a Recruitment Data Analyst, you will work closely with the Men’s First Team Recruitment Department to proactively scout and profile players using multiple data sources: technical, physical and biographical.
You will take the lead in statistical modelling of performance data and push forwards our capability to identify and value high performing players, building visually appealing dashboards and visuals to engage key stakeholders across the Club.
Other key responsibilities as part of this role include:
Integrating scouting data into existing workflows for the monitoring and evaluation of players and department coverage
- Research, build and implement player rating systems, index scores, team and league strengths and crucially, conversion rates between leagues
- Transfer market modelling – building models to help find value in the transfer market and predict player trajectories
- Working collaboratively with recruitment analysts and scouts to imbed the value of data, the interpretation of metrics, and generally advocate the culture of data in recruitment at the Club.
Who we are looking for: Essentially, we are looking for a talented and confident recruitment data analyst who has the knowledge and skill to play an integral role in our First Team Performance Insights Department.
You will be confident in communicating with all stakeholders as you will play a key role in identifying talent, and driving the analytical capabilities we have available and really proving why data is important to a football club like ours.
