UVA Executive Search Group (ESG) is an internal search firm at the University of Virginia with demonstrated excellence in recruiting and retaining exceptional talent. The Role

UVA’s Executive Search Group is seeking a Recruiting Associate (RA) to join its team. The RA plays a critical role working in partnership with ESG’s Senior Search Consultants and Managing Directors to provide high-level administrative support for UVA’s leadership searches. The role consists of scheduling committee meetings and preparing all related materials, coordinating multi-candidate first-round interviews (virtual and in-person), collecting feedback, creating reports, presentations, correspondence with clients and candidates, and preparing briefings for executive leaders. In addition, the RA helps with research to build diverse and highly qualified lists of potential candidates.

The RA is also externally facing and helps to design, coordinate, and execute comprehensive multiday/multi-candidate visits for finalist candidates, involving stakeholders across UVA and the community – creating the environment and experience that leads to the decision. The RA provides a high-touch experience coordinating travel and accommodation arrangements, setting up real estate, community, and local area school tours, making restaurant reservations and catering requests, coordinating sporting and special events, etc.

• Proven success working in an executive support, administrative, and/or service-oriented role
• Demonstrated ability providing high-level support to internal and external stakeholders in a complex organization – UVA’s stakeholders consist of executives, faculty, staff, students, boards, community members, and candidates
• Enjoys providing exceptional service
• Highest level of discretion, confidentiality, and judgement
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously, excellent time and project management skills
• High attention to detail and focus on quality
• Team player, thoughtful, good sense of humor
• Flexible and works well under pressure
• Proactive and process improvement oriented
• Quick study – actively listens, asks good questions, keen ability to connect dots

Minimum Requirements

Education: high school diploma, bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience: four years of related experience in an exempt-level (professional) position, bachelor’s degree with two years of exempt-level related experience, or a master’s degree with one year of exempt-level related experience
