An opportunity has arisen for a part time Recruitment Assistant to join a professional Human Resources Team on a fixed term basis for 12 months. The postholder will work with the Team to provide support for the provision of an effective recruitment service for substantive staff and hourly paid workers, in accordance with University policies and procedures.

Duties will include the preparation and placement of job adverts, receiving and processing job applications, preparing shortlisting and interview packs, preparing and sending interview schedules and interview invites, requesting references, undertaking pre-employment checks, processing offer letters and contracts of employment, setting up and maintaining staff files, and monitoring the recruitment email inbox and responding to/forwarding queries to the relevant person, as required.

The successful applicant will possess 5 GCSEs or equivalent including English Language and Maths, and have demonstrable experience of working in an administrative role. You will also have excellent communication and organisation skills with the ability to prioritise work effectively, together with good IT skills including Microsoft Word/Excel, excellent attention to detail and a professional and proactive approach to supporting managers. An ability to work confidentially and in accordance with Data Protection requirements is also essential. Experience of the administration of recruitment and selection processes is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

The hours of work are 18.5 per week, ideally worked over 5 mornings or afternoons from Monday to Friday, however a working pattern over 2/3 full days per week will also be considered
