Recovery Practitioner SafeNet
Substance Misuse & Recovery Pracitioner (Domestic Abuse)
What you’ll be doing
- We are looking for a high calibre, passionate, caring individual who is an excellent team player and are committed to providing high quality, trauma informed services for victims and survivors of domestic abuse.
- As a Substance Misuse & Recovery Pracitioner (Domestic Abuse) within SafeNet Lancaster Refuge team, your role will provide proactive practical and emotional support to victims and surviviors of domestic abuse who present with a higher level of complex health and social needs.
- The role will provide psychosocial support that is trauma informed for residents who require support due to complex needs (such as Drug & Alcohol addiction, current or historical offending behaviour, high level mental health and self harm).
- Please note, the hours of work would be 37 hours with some evening and weekend work. We are happy to discuss flexibility with shift patterns.

What you’ll need to be a success
- Understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on victims and survivors.
- Experience of supporting people with complex health and social needs, both emotionally and practically to achieve positive outcomes.
- Understanding of the criminal justice system and probation services in relation to offending behaviour.
- Knowledge in Recovery Focused approaches via 1-1 and group work interventions, focusing on positive behaviour changes.
- Knowledge of recovery and rehabilitation processes.
- Experience of developing and delivering trauma informed group work relating to recovery.
- Understanding of Harm Reduction and delivering support plans pertaining to this.
- To have excellent time management and organisational skills working on own initiative and within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
