Job description
The overriding purpose is to support the provision of the highest quality patient care and customer service through personal actions and continuous improvement.
The role is responsible for the filing of correspondence in patient case notes, tracking case notes in and out utilising the Medway PAS system and the transportation of case notes to agreed areas around the Trust.
To follow Standard Operating Procedures which describe how the functions of this role will be carried out along with the timescales that will be adhered to.
To work as part of the team providing cover for colleagues during sickness and annual leave where appropriate.
To attend the team Communication Cell meeting as instructed.
To attend and participate in daily communication cell and handovers between colleagues, thus ensuring that up to date information is received and that tasks are prioritised and dealt with accordingly. This is also an opportunity to raise issues/concerns and queries regarding work.
Ability to identify the correct/relevant patients using the Patient Master Index module of the Medway PAS in order to patient safety.
To respond to telephone enquiries to the department, taking accurate messages as appropriate and communicate same to colleagues in a timely manner.
To action requests made to the departments case note requests board in a timely manner and continuously throughout the day.
Ensure that confidentiality policies and procedures are followed in all aspects of the work in the department.
