An exciting opportunity has arisen for a receptionist in Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC). We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly team.
The post holder will have day to day responsibility for the administration of the relevant electronic patient information system. They will work as part of a friendly team providing front line administration services to the department, welcoming patients and visitors to the department, the booking in and discharge of patients and outpatient appointments, scanning notes and liaising with patients and clinical professionals over the telephone.
You must have excellent computer skills, good organisational and communication skills; have the ability to work effectively and proactively as part of a team and under your own initiative and cope well under pressure.
The service is open Monday - Sunday 08.00 - 00.00 and you will be expected to work on a flexible rotational basis. Full and possible part-time hours available.
Booking in of patients attending Same Day Emergency Care onto the hospital computer systems.
Liaising with Health care professional and booking in patients on arrival.
Receive and deal with telephone messages, as required.
Cancel or change appointments according to clinic rules and procedures.
Reception duties on out-patient clinics, ensuring all computer details are maintained correctly on the Symphony system/ Camis and that all relevant details are entered.
Pre-clinic preparation, responsible for checking that necessary paperwork is available for patient reviews.

Ordering and booking in of hospital notes as required by the Department.
Notifying Overseas Department of any visitors attending Same Day Emergency Care and taking relevant information.
Scanning attendance notes onto system
Admitting, discharging and transferring patients on CAMIS
Filing and scanning in Patient Records of Same Day Emergency Care Specialist notes.
Photocopying, fax, referrals as required and all other routine office duties.
Deal with all enquiries from members of the public.
Liaise with all levels of staff
Be aware of the Data Protection Act, Fire, Health & Safety and that all Trust Policies are adhered to.
Attend mandatory courses within due times.
Any other duties which may be required.
To provide occasional cross cover for Urgent Care.
Liaise with all multidisciplinary levels across all directorates. Can interpret and convey information accurately and concisely.
To participate in any in-house training and awareness sessions to keep up to date with the transit time target
