Job description
Pain Management is a multi-disciplinary team comprising of Consultants, Physiotherapists, Clinical Psychologists, and Specialist Nurse Practitioners. The service is predominantly based at Adelaide Street Health Centre, where the postholder will be based.
The admin team is comprised of Receptionists and Medical Secretaries who support the clinical team in the delivery of high quality, patient-focused healthcare for the patients of the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
We are looking for a flexible, hard-working individual to join the Reception team. The post-holder will be required to work either the 8:15-16:15 or 09:30-17:30 shift, which will be allocated on a rotational basis.

You will provide a high-quality reception and support service within the OutpatientsDepartment, and as such, will need to be able to communicate well with patients and their relatives, the general public and a wide range of multi-professional staff, internal and external to the Trust. In order to provide a support service to the technical staff, a versatile approach is essential and the ability to cope with a large number of different tasks simultaneously is a prerequisite of this post.

- To provide a support service to the technical, secretarial, medical and nursing staff of the Department.
- To deal with patients and external and internal staff enquiries in person or via the telephone, in a courteous and confidential manner and provide assistance as required.
- To ensure appointment lists are maintained and prepared in readiness for clinical work.
- To understand the 18 Week Pathway, input the correct RTT codes and validate the patient pathway where appropriate.
- To assist in the movement of patients to and from wards and departments as necessary.
- To maintain the various filing systems and record books within the Department and provide a filing system for all departmental staff to use.
