Shah & Associates Family Practice is a full-service medical practice located in Cary, NC. We are looking for a reliable and compassionate individual to join our team as the front desk receptionist.
Job Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients to the practice
- Answer incoming calls to schedule appointments and provide information about patient care
- Check patients in and out using our electronic system
- Process insurance payments
- Schedule new patient appointments
- Collect copays, past due balances, and any outstanding balances from patients using a computer system
- Answer any questions patients may have and provide additional information regarding patient care
- Provide administrative support such as faxing documents, copying documents, scanning documents, preparing reports, etc.
- Perform other tasks related to front office duties as assigned by the Office Manager
- Assist patients with insurance verification and billing in the office.
- Follow all office procedures regarding document handling and record keeping.
- Follow all security procedures at the office.
- Maintain professional image by following policies and procedures, filing appropriately, etc.
Skills & Qualifications:
·Excellent customer service skills with ability to greet, welcome and identify customers by name. Greet all patients coming into the office. Assist patients with insurance verification and billing. Prepare patient charts for doctor's review. Send out letters for referrals when requested. Assist doctor with patient's care questions or concerns. Keeps appointment schedule list in order to call patients up on scheduled times to check on their status. Follows office procedures regarding document handling and record keeping. Follows all security procedures at the office. Able to communicate effectively with other employees as well as with patients and families. Understands medical terminology used in practice. Able to perform basic clerical tasks such as faxing documents, copywriting, preparing reports, etc., using a computer or other electronic system such as fax machine or copier. Be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude throughout the workday.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.50 - $20.00 per hour
