Job description
To co-ordinate the quality and training programmes within Specimen Reception. To maintain the high standards of the department by contributing towards individual and team objectives.
- To assist the Team Leader with the induction of new staff to the departments. To ensure that both new and existing staff receive appropriate training to enable them to perform their duties (including rotation through various areas where appropriate). Ensuring that training schedules are regularly updated.
- To discuss expected outcomes of training and development activity with the Team Leader and staff prior to attending training events. Ensuring that training logs are recorded.
- To discuss outcomes with the Team Leader and staff after attending training and development activity and to assist staff to transfer, develop and use new skills acquired.
- To regularly assess staff during initial and refresher training, immediately bringing to the attention of the Team leader, any areas of concern.
- To ensure the confidentiality on all matters relating to patients and information obtained through the course of employment.
- To maintain the high standards of the Department by contributing towards individual and team objectives.
- Working with the Team leader, to improve working practices, to the benefit of the team and users of the service.
Our laboratory is fully accredited with UKAS, MHRA and HCPC training status. You will be expected to work according to our working time compliant shift system, this will include evenings and weekends.
