Northwest Special Recreation Association (NWSRA) enriches the lives of children and adults with disabilities through a partnership with 17 Park Districts located within the northwest suburbs of Chicago. NWSRA provides outstanding recreation opportunities for people with disabilities within our partner Park Districts through weekly programs, adult day programs (PURSUIT), special events, day camps and inclusion in Park District programs. NWSRA is a park district that serves people with disabilities.
Job Purpose: Under the direction of the Superintendent of Marking & Communications, this position will greet, assist and provide direction and information to participants, visitors and other guests of Northwest Special Recreation Association (NWSRA) and Special Leisure Services Foundation (SLSF).
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Handle customer reception by telephone and refer incoming calls to the appropriate employee and responds promptly and professionally to walk-in customers.
- Assist with typing/word processing, copying and other office support tasks fulfilling due dates and required deadlines.
- Responsible for preparing mail, using the proper postage, completing large mailing projects when needed and dropping off the mail at the post office.
- Update mailing lists for the brochures and other program related programs and services.
- Assist with data entry of SLSF donations and program registration when needed.
- Take daily bank deposits to the bank for NWSRA and SLSF and assist with petty cash disbursement when needed.
- Responsible for opening and closing the NWSRA office in the morning and evening as scheduled.
- Responsible for maintaining the lobby and employee kitchen in a neat manner.
Qualifications: Graduate from high school or equivalent. Two – three years’ experience with varied office experience with general knowledge of office procedures and equipment. Three to five years' experience with computers and Microsoft Office Suite and/or successful completion of computer course work. Accurate and efficient data entry skills. Demonstrate decision making skills, organizational skills and strong interpersonal skills.
Scheduling and Pay: This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Weekly schedule is 8 hours a day / 40 days a week. Attending agency events may be requested. Hiring Range $18.63 to $21.50 an hours DOQ.
