About the Trust

We deliver district general services to 2.5m residents of Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, and its surrounding communities. Our specialist services allow us to deliver care to 4.5m people from across the East Midlands and nationally for a handful of services. QMC is where our Emergency Department (ED), Major Trauma Centre and the Nottingham Children’s Hospital are based. It is also home to the University of Nottingham’s School of Nursing and Medical School. Nottingham City Hospital is our planned care site, where our cancer centre, heart centre and stroke services are based, and where some of our emergency admissions units are located. Ropewalk House is where we provide a range of outpatient services, including hearing services.

What you’ll be responsible for:

· Print clinic lists from Medway PAS in advance of clinic date and using Medway PAS.

· Greet patients at reception, check their personal details are correct, and if necessary amend in Medway PAS, accordingly, ensuring patient confidentiality.

· Using Medway PAS or any other relevant electronic booking systems arrange appointments for follow up clinics, as instructed by the medical/nursing staff. Arrange transport as necessary.

· Add follow ups to review lists for partially booked.

You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You’ll have the following skills/experience:

· Excellent communication skills- both verbal and written

· Microsoft office skills- Outlook, Word, and Excel

· Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

· Previous admin/ reception experience

· Previous experience within the NHS

· Previous NUH knowledge and experience
