About the Trust

Alder Hey Children’s Hospital cares for over 330,000 children, young people, and their families every year. As one of Europe’s biggest and busiest children’s hospitals, we treat everything from common illnesses to highly complex and specialist conditions. In addition to our main hospital site, we offer paediatric services at a number of community sites and hold local clinics across Merseyside, Cumbria, Shropshire, Wales, and the Isle of Man. We also provide specialist inpatient care for children with complex mental health needs at our Alder Park Building in North Liverpool.

What you’ll be responsible for:

· Communication with recently bereaved individuals, requiring an emotional robustness and sensitivity.

· Ensure the provision of continuous and consistent opening times, reception, administrative, clerical and general building duties.

· Telephone enquiries

· Client referrals and the processing of associated information.

· Be responsible for arranging hospitality for all visitors which will typically include making beverages and associated preparing and clearing of activities.

The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above

You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

· An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

· Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

· A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You’ll have the following skills/experience:

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to Listen and empathise with service users, carers and fellow colleagues and behave in a professional manner.

· Microsoft office skills- Outlook, Word, and Excel.

· System knowledge of Healthcare systems.

· Previous experience of working in an NHS or mental health setting. (Desirable)
