Medical Receptionist (Temp)
Location: Laganview Medical Practice, Level 2, Lisburn Primary & Community Care Centre, 39 Hillsborough Road, Lisburn, BT28 1JP.
We are looking for a Receptionist to join our reception team and be part of the day to day running of the surgery. This role will support the entire team in providing a high quality service for all our patients.
Hours: 24 hours per week (Temp, normally worked over 3 days)
The successful candidates must have the following (Essential Criteria):
- 3 x GCSE’s at Grade C or above (including English) or the equivalent
- A minimum of 1 years’ experience of working in a reception or office environment
- Experience of providing excellent customer service
- Demonstrable experience of working with computer packages such as Word, Excel, Access.
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative
- Ability to handle situations of potential conflict
- Available between the hours of 8.30am - 6.00pm.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of working in a Health care environment
- Experience of reception duties
Practical experience of computerised booking systems – EMIS Web Clinical Computer system would be an advantage.

LAGANVIEW MEDICAL PRACTICE JOB DESCRIPTION
Post: Medical Receptionist
Location: GP Practice, LPCCC, Lagan Valley Hospital site.
Reports: Practice Manager
Hours: 24 hours per week.
Practice is open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6.00pm normally, but may on occasions be open to 8pm and occasionally at weekends, additional hours and swaps maybe required to meet the needs of the Practice during these hours.
Job Summary:
To receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
To provide general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
To be part of the day to day running of the surgery and support the entire team in providing a high quality service for their patients
Job Responsibilities:
Customer Service: including answering telephones, making appointments, ordering and dealing with Prescription Requests, relaying messages, actioning e-mails as required, scanning and processing incoming and outgoing post.
Assisting colleagues as and when required.
Maintain confidentiality at all times in relation to all information held / discussed within the Practice.
Participate in meetings and training as appropriate to work and in the development of the Practice.
Ensure that all policies and procedures relating to the Practice are implemented and adhered to.
