Job description
The role of Receptionist Administrator is to support the Head of Lower School by providing a range of clerical, administrative and receptionist duties which aid the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the school. The Receptionist Administrator is a crucial member of the School and acts as initial point of contact for the school: greeting visitors, students, staff and parents, and receiving incoming telephone calls. Supporting the Senior Leadership Team, as well as the Headmasters PA, this role manages the administrative support functions across the School in conjunction with the work of the PA and/or Sixth Form Receptionist, and ensures that an effective service is delivered for staff and students.
The post holder will be expected to be flexible in working location and respond to the needs of the School and the post holder will be expected to move and adapt as required. During term time the Receptionist Administrator will normally be based at either the Lower School in Bark Place.
WORKING HOURS
· This is a full time, permanent and all year round post; the post holder is required to work throughout the year including school holiday periods.
· The normal working hours will be 08.00 – 17.00 Monday – Friday (30 minute lunchbreak, timing to be agreed with the line manager). The front desk must always be manned during this time.
· This post will be based at Bark Place, the Lower School site, but working patterns and place of work will need to remain flexible especially during holiday periods.
· Flexibility in the hours will be required and some working at weekends or at evening events may be required in order to support the Head of Lower School or the PA – this will usually be for School or external events. Appropriate remuneration, or time off in lieu, will be given.
· It is the nature of school life that administrative staff need to have a high degree of flexibility. You must expect therefore from time to time to help where needed and to undertake tasks of a more general nature that are not specifically mentioned in this job description.
