Job description
We require a receptionist/administrator to join our forward-looking and busy GP Practice in Belfast.
* Part time, permanant - (25 hours per week - 5 x afternoon sessions 1.00pm to 6.00pm)
GP surgery experience is desirable. Other clinical experience, such as other NHS work, dental or pharmacy would also be considered.
We wish to welcome to our team an enthusiastic, hard-working, quality-driven individual that we can train to a high standard in secretarial, administrative and accounts skills, to help support our clinical staff in providing a high quality medical service.
Your main duties will be assisting our patients by attending to them at the reception desk, managing incoming calls, managing the post and electronic communications, whilst also helping with our accounts and practice administration. You must be educated to GCSE level with good grades in English and Maths. You must be able to work in a very fast paced environment with a very high degree of accuracy, to help us ensure the safety of our patients. As we rely heavily on information technology for our systems, the candidate must have good computer skills, and be familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and the Internet, and be prepared to be trained on systems they may not be familiar with. We want someone who can work well as part of a team.

Essential Criteria:
* Experience working within a medical or clinical environment.
* Extensive experience in dealing with members of the public.
* Excellent team-working and communication skills.
* Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.
* Ability to ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times.
* Flexible approach to work and can demonstrate professionalism.
* Ability to accept change as all our roles evolve, in context of a changing climate of the NHS.
* 5 GCSEs to include English and Maths at Grade C or above or equivalent.
* Proven experience of Microsoft Office Applications.
Desirable Criteria:
* Experience using the Vision Clinical System.
* Able to demonstrate an ability to deal with challenging situations or individuals.
* Minimum of 1 year's experience in a similar role.
* OCR/RSA Level 3 in Text Production and Word Processing or equivalent.
* Recognised Microsoft Excel qualification.
