Horizon PACE is excited to announce an amazing opportunity to be part of Horizon PACE’s program (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly). This innovative program is for individuals 55 years or older, who are living with chronic illness, or disabilities and need coordinated medical care to continue living as independently as possible in their home and community. The healthcare team at Horizon PACE will approach coordinating medical, social, and home care services so individuals no longer need to manage their medical care alone. Horizon has over 25 years’ experience providing care in Kentucky and is the largest provider of adult day health care services in the state. Horizon is opening 3 PACE locations in Kentucky, and we are excited to expand services to older Kentuckians. Under the supervision of the Horizon PACE Director, the Receptionist shall greet participants and visitors, signing them in as needed and proving directions/assistance as needed. They will also be responsible for answering and routing income calls and messages. They will also assist with the making of announcements/calls as needed during emergency situations. They will ensure safe exit from the front door in the event of an emergency. They will check in/sign in all visitors and participants upon entry. At no time shall the reception area be unmanned during normal operations; the receptionist will be responsible for ensuring coverage prior to leaving the reception area. In addition to these duties, they will assist various departments within PACE as needed and their duties allow. Additional assistance shall include basic office functions as needed or assistance with special projects or events.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Greets patients and visitors upon arrival.
  • Verifies clearance of patients and visitors and signs them in as needed, proving assistant with directions, etc.
  • Provides guests with visitor passes as needed.
  • Answers all general incoming calls and route them, accordingly, taking messages as needed.
  • Maintain phone system and make emergency announcements/calls as needed.
  • Ensure the wandering system on the front door is unlocked in the event of a non-fire emergency. They will also ensure that the sign in log is removed from the building during an emergency to allow for all visitors in the building to be accounted for.
  • Ensure that they do not leave the reception area unless a qualified person is able to cover them while they are on an approved break or as needed.
  • Assist with general office duties as needed in various departments.
  • Assists participants and caregivers in filing grievances and appeals.
  • Assists participants and family to keep resources within guidelines for Medicaid eligibility.
  • Acts only within the scope of his or her authority to practice.
  • Follows Horizon PACE Policies and Procedures and applicable OSHA safety guidelines.
  • Protects privacy and maintains confidentiality of all company procedures, results and information about employees, participants, and families.
  • Practices Universal precautions.
  • Maintains safe working environment. Follows Horizon PACE Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Participates in and supports Quality Improvement initiatives
  • Participates in continuing education classes and any required staff and training meetings. Maintains professional affiliations and any required certifications.

Experience & Education:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and have a reliable means of transportation
  • Preferred to have experience working as an administrative assistant or receptionist.
  • Preferred to have 1-year relevant experience.
  • High level of organization skill.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.50 per hour
