Job description
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our reception team. Experience is preferred but training will be provided. The successful candidate will be patient focused and able to prioritise and multi-task.
Ideally, we are looking for a receptionist who can work 0800-1300 Monday to Friday (25 hours). However, we may be flexible for the right candidate. Please state in your application if you are unable to work all 5 mornings and propose an alternative.
The Receptionist reports to the Senior Receptionists. They provide a point of contact for patients and act as a focal point for communication between patients, doctors and other medical staff.
Job summary:
a) Utilise computerized system to ensure efficiency of appointment system
b) Explain practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients
c) Advise patients of relevant charges for private services, accept payment and issue receipts for same.
d) Respond to all queries and requests for assistance from patients and other visitors.
e) Action requests for ambulance transportation as appropriate.
f) Ensure reception and waiting areas are kept neat and tidy.
g) Receive and make calls as required. Divert calls and take messages as appropriate.
h) Ensure that system is operational at the beginning of each day and switched over to night services and answerphone operational at the end of each day.
i) Ensure that the consulting rooms are checked at the end of each consulting session and left tidy and secure.
j) Issue repeat prescriptions as requested.
k) To undertake clerical tasks as required, e.g. preparation of patient records from Health Authority; temporary resident claims; filing; computer data entry.
l) Scanning and linking letters into patients’ computer records.
