Job description
The Devoncove Hotel is located in Glasgow and open 7 days per week so candidate must be available to work any days of the week, especially weekends, and be available for any shifts - early (7am-3pm), backshift (3pm-11pm) and in nightshift (11pm-7am) as per the rota system.
Job spec:
- Check guests in and out, issue keys & provide guests with information as necessary.
- Check bookings coming in from booking agents such as Booking.com, Expedia and other channels and be familiar with their booking systems. Most of our bookings come in automatically to our booking system via interface with the booking agents.
- Take direct manual bookings, via telephone, email, walk in following Reception procedure.
- Take Guest and V-Card payments and pay off on Hotel's booking system, flagging up declined cards, following up and issuing appropriate notification to guests and the booking agents.
- Guest communication - writing emails using the reception computers, taking telephone calls.
- Dealing with Guest complaints, providing solutions & escalating to management where necessary.
- You will need to have good communications skills, speaking clearly, and being comfortable in a front facing role, have good writing and IT skills, be polite, professional, presentable, calm and well organised at all times.
- On the job training will be provided, you will have a "Training Buddy".
- Liaise with Management, Housekeeping and Maintenance.
- Bar - a basic understanding of bar beverages is required.
- Additional reception duties such as cleaning, cutting room key, file management etc.
- Rota is issued one week in advance.
