Southern Cross School are searching for an organised and experienced Receptionist to be a welcoming first point of contact for students, staff and visitors. The School Receptionist will be responsible for carrying out clerical duties and managing a busy reception area, dealing with a variety of queries promptly and efficiently whilst being a key representative of the school’s ethos and values. The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic and welcoming team and will join us in motivating students to strive for success while maintaining a healthy learning environment for all children within the school.
This role will involve:
- Interacting with teachers and other staff members to answer questions or resolve issues.
- Coordinating school events such as parent meetings, school plays, and trips.
- Collecting and distributing mail and messages to teachers and staff members.
- Answering phone calls and greeting visitors.
- Facilitating communication between administrators, teachers, and students’ families.
- Manage incoming orders and organise distribution to relevant staff members.
- Collating money for students’ dinners etc. in line with internal finance procedures.
- To undertake routine clerical and administrative support duties as requested.
The right candidate will:
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Have strong attention to detail and the ability to keep accurate records.
- Be reliable, efficient and have the ability to use initiative when needed.
- Remain diligent in all administrative processes to ensure accuracy and confidentiality at all times.
- Be a team player and demonstrate flexibly to changing demands and priorities.
- Have good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Be ICT literate and have experience of using computer systems for a range of purposes.
