receptionist Dumfries, Scotland
Job description
We are looking to hire a receptionist to join our friendly, dynamic team. We are a mixed veterinary practice based within Dumfries, with a mixture of small animal and farm animal clients covering the Dumfries and Lower Nithsdale region.
We need someone with good communication skills and a friendly, caring approach to be able to speak with both pet owners and farm clients, with an ability to problem solve, especially in potential emergency scenarios. Good computer skills also essential.
Previous experience in a veterinary receptionist role preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
The role would be entirely admin-based, with no nursing/animal husbandry duties. Duties include:
- Answering phones and emails
- Identifying emergencies and alerting vets to urgent cases
- Greeting clients at the desk
- Handling financial transactions
- Making and editing appointments and using practice management software
We are ideally looking to hire someone full time Monday-Friday, however we can be flexible with times and days if required and part-time applicants will be considered.
Salary dependent on experience
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 25-35 per week
Salary: From £10.42 per hour
