JOB TITLE: Receptionist/Waiting person -

HOURS: Approx 20 8am - 12pm or 12pm-4pm

LOCATION: Castle View Retirement Village

REPORTS TO: Village Manager

BACKGROUND

Castle View is a development by Castle Retirement Living in the heart of Windsor’s residential community. There are 64 apartments designed for people over 55 years old who wish to live independently.

Residents enjoy a lounge and a café in which coffee, tea and meals are served, and events are run periodically. This area, and the adjacent 24/7 reception, are run by the Castle View in-house team who will ensure that all services and facilities are operated to a high standard. On the fourth floor is the residents’ sky lounge, bar and garden.

DEPARTMENT

The front of house team provides an in-house 24/7 reception to residents of Castle View Retirement Village, ensuring a welcoming and efficient reception and catering service and liaising with external facilities management teams and other providers as required.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To provide and deliver an effective front of house and customer focused service for all residents and guests,

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Welcome visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone;
  • Assist residents with queries
  • Assist other members of staff in the restaurant/bar as and when required, This includes extra hours working ad-hoc events, weekends, holiday, sickness cover
  • Maintain security by following procedures;
  • Keeping front desk tidy and presentable with all necessary material
  • Ensure deliveries and post is distributed according to company guidelines
  • Deal with complaints or problems and escalating to Village Manager when necessary
  • Support the Restaurant Manager and Village Manager in arranging catering and refreshment for events in the lounge, café, dining room or Sky Lounge
  • Assist the Village Manager and other members of the team with ad-hoc duties as required

Experience: Proven experience of reception duties in a front of house environment

skills/Ability/Knowledge: Excellent Customer Service Skills

  • IT literate
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in English (oral and written)
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Good organisational and multitasking abilities
  • First Aid training preferable (can be provided)

  • Integrity and professionalism
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to undertake a varied workload and to prioritise tasks where necessary
  • Hold a current UK-valid driving license

Salary: £12.00 per hour
