About the Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a full and part time receptionist to join our single site, small animal practice. We are looking for two highly motivated receptionists to join our team of 7 vets, 9 nurses, 2 SVN’s and what will be 9 support staff. You will be working with a team of 5 other receptionists to provide outstanding customer service and a high standard of administrative support to the wider team.
The role will include taking telephone enquiries, managing the diary, meeting and greeting customers, taking payments, gaining a huge variety of knowledge and general admin duties as required. This is a challenging yet rewarding role. There is a lot to learn so we are looking for someone who enjoys learning and can keep up with the fast-paced environment.
If you are someone who has a genuine passion for providing fantastic customer service then we would love to hear from you! If you are looking for a more clinical/hands on role then this position isn’t a route into veterinary nursing.
The full-time role is 37.5 hours per week plus a Saturday morning on a 1 in 5 rota basis.
The part time role is 22 hours per week plus a Saturday morning on a 1 in 3 rota basis.
Shifts patterns vary between 8am and 7pm so the ideal candidate for either role must be flexible to cover between these hours. The position also consists of overtime to cover for holiday and sickness.

Applicant requirements:
- Previous customer service experience
- A good knowledge of veterinary practice procedures and terminologies is desirable
- Basic arithmetic skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent organisational, time management, and multitasking abilities
- Personable, empathic disposition
- Capacity to work well during distressing and fast paced situations.
- Ability to work well within a large team
