To be a welcoming initial contact upon entering the sports centre. Dealing with bookings and enquiries with a high level of customer service
Mon-Fri evenings 5pm-9:30pm
Main Responsibilities/Duties of Job
-To be aware of the Department’s Objectives & how they contribute towards the Arena Sports Centre’s aims & objectives.
-To have sufficient knowledge & to be able to inform customers of activities that are available within the Arena Sports Centre including birthday parties, sporting facilities, classroom areas, aerobics classes, children’s activities, etc.
-To take bookings from users of the Arena Sports Centre in all areas including casual bookings.
-To take payment in different ways for activities & bookings including cash, credit & debit cards & to always give a till receipt.
-To be able to use office equipment (other than computers) such as photocopiers & laminators.
-To be able to give a tour of the building to any customers or suppliers, promoting all aspects of the Arena Sports Centre in a positive way.
-To be able to log & retrieve lost property.
-To set-up timesheet for staff members.
-Issue membership fobs to new & existing members.
-To ensure members appropriately complete forms before using the facilities, for example, health questionnaire forms for use of the gym.
-To be able to use the ‘Scuba’ computer system which includes use of the tills (opening, operational use & closing), access control (processing members as they use the facilities) & bookings (casual booking & contract booking).
-Cash handling. To take responsibility for a ‘float’, taking payments & cashing up of the till & ensure the income from the shift is given to the Duty Manager.
-To accept orders from external suppliers, ensuring stock is properly accounted for.
-To assist in the safe evacuation of users & staff in an emergency.
-To be able to answer the telephone, transfer the calls and if necessary, take messages for the appropriate departments.
-To give all users of the Arena Sports Centre good customer care, ensuring customers needs are met.
-To be able to use the basic computer skills including sending & retrieving e-mails, Word, Excel & able to access the internet.
-Have knowledge of the lighting systems of the Arena Sports Centre.
-Ensuring the Reception & surrounding areas are well presented including small cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, polishing & cleaning.
-Assisting & advise in purchasing of stock purchases including stationery supplies & office equipment.
-To carry out such duties in connection with the work of the Arena, which the Sports Centre Management may determine within the remit of the grade of the job.
-To assist in developing systems & procedures aimed at ensuring that the work of the Arena Sports Centre is conducted to optimum effect.
