Reception Host Newquay, England

Red Hotels Limited
Full Time Newquay, England 11 GBP HOURLY Today
Job description

We enjoy looking after people, that’s what great people do.

Our reception hosts are friendly and caring in nature. They cover two hotels, Scarlet, an adults-only eco-sanctuary that celebrates the richness of natural living and Bedruthan, a creative outpost for all to enjoy.

From the warm and efficient check-in process, anticipating and answering guest’s questions during their stay and wishing them a fond farewell on their departure, receptionists are an essential part of a memorable guest experience.

No two days at the hotels are the same and your responsibilities will vary daily, however each day you can expect to:

  • Maintain a positive and friendly attitude at all times, even when working to achieve solutions to challenges.
  • Provide a swift and effective check-in process for the day’s arrivals, adhering to standard operating procedures.
  • Deal with in-house guest requests, recording all feedback for seamless shift handovers.
  • Ensure the accuracy of data in all systems and provide the necessary daily information required.
  • Answer any questions our in-house guests may have about the hotel and local area
  • Anticipate our guests needs to provide a seamless experience
  • Ensure all telephone calls as answered quickly and as efficiently as possible.
  • Report any maintenance issues and check that the work has been completed and feedback to the guest
  • Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of guest billing, financial transactions and the reception float.
  • Maintain the brand standards of our reception and public spaces as well as keeping areas tidy and presentable

We are looking for:

  • Someone who is confident, positive and enjoys working in a busy environment
  • Problem solvers. A person who can answer guest quests and looks for solutions
  • Previous hotel experience or similar. It’s not a must have, but you must be eager to learn
  • Someone with a passion for hospitality and to create positive lasting memories for our guests.
  • Who wants to be part of a successful and hard working team

As a family-owned independent Cornish business, we value every member of our talented team and we offer a range of benefits and perks to reflect our commitment to making our hotels such a desirable place to work. These include:

  • £11 per hour plus tips
  • A people-centric working environment
  • Learning and internal career progression opportunities
  • A permanent contract with 28 days holiday per year (29 after 1 year)
  • Long service scheme, enjoy a free stay at Bedruthan after your first year!
  • Enjoy 40% off food and drinks at the hotel, along with a range of other services throughout the hotel with our own discount scheme
  • Local partnership discounts
  • Health Shield Healthcare Plan
  • On-site team accommodation is available
