Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure all financial reporting is delivered technically and arithmetically correct, in accordance with the Authorities financial management principles and to agreed timelines, enabling yourself to analyse options and make financial recommendations.
  • Utilise the MPS internal property database and Finance systems for the payment of rents, service charges, insurance, business rates and council tax.
  • Manage the data in the MPS Manhatton system and all payments made via Manhatton.
  • Act as principle point of contact for the Finance team for any Systems Development across Property.
  • The post holder will also play a key role supporting Property Professional Services business development activities and provide leadership and strategic advice in relation to Financial Management.
  • The Financial Management service will interoperate seamlessly with other services, with key information being shared to inform the strategy of other service elements throughout SPSS

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Graduate calibre (Accounting and Financial, or similar discipline).
  • Sufficient and relevant experience within the Real Estate Financial Management environment.
  • Data analysis and trending skills – analysing data sets to identify trends.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail (create written/edit documents and run spread sheets).
  • Motivated to continuously develop technical skills and knowledge.
  • CIMA/ACCA part qualified.
  • A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
  • Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
  • Strong presentation/communication skills.
  • Experience of using MS Office, including Outlook – email and diary management, Excel (Advanced) – create and edit spreadsheets, Word – create and edit detailed documents.
  • Applicants need to be eligible to pass security vetting carried out by the Client.

Desirable

  • Previous experience of working within an FM/Building services delivery model.
  • Client relationship management experience.
  • Experience of working with CAFM systems.
  • Knowledge of Building Services/Estates Management.
  • Knowledge of property, building fabric and M&E terminology.
  • Actively working towards CIMS/ACCA qualification
