Lateral - Associate
FIN - Real Estate and Real Estate Finance
We are seeking candidates for an Associate position with our Real Estate team, to be based in our London office. Our ideal candidate has 3 to 7 years of post-qualification real estate experience, although we are willing to hire outside of this range for the best candidate.
The UK Real Estate team is currently comprised of two partners (with one partner based in our Chicago office following a recent move), with access to one trainee. Both partners in the team have experience in all areas of commercial real estate, although the team’s main specialism is the data centre sector. Therefore, the ideal candidate will have experience in working on data centre transactions, or experience in another analogous sector. However, this is not a pre-requisite and the team is willing to look at candidates with experience in other areas with a willingness to learn.
Essential Functions:
- Provide thorough factual and legal research and analysis
- Draft necessary agreements and documents (including sale and purchase agreements and lease) with efficiency and clarity
- Manage projects from commencement to completion
- Competently and professionally communicate with clients and supervising attorneys; and
- Complete tasks efficiently
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Experience representing clients on sales and acquisitions
- Leasing experience
- Thorough understanding of the elements of property due diligence
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines
- Strong organization and matter management skills
- Ability to work professionally and effectively with Clients, Partners, Associates and Support Staff
- Clear and effective drafting skills
- Exceptional project management skills.
