About the Role

We are currently looking for a Re-Entry System Inspector to join our inspection team within the Lockheed Martin - Strategic Systems business area, based at RNAD Coulport, Helensburgh. This role benefits from a 4 day working week Mon - Thu giving you every Friday off. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing area of the Lockheed Martin UK business, in an established and highly skilled team working in support of the UKs national security.

In this role you can expect to be responsible for the following activities:
  • Ensuring that all SWS Engineering and Quality functions related to the Trident Re-Entry System (RES) flight hardware and support equipment at RNAD(C) are controlled and performed in accordance with US and UK SWS Project requirements and to the appropriate safety and quality standards
  • Performing direct inspection tasks applicable to the Trident weapon system and associated Surface Support Equipment.
  • Highlighting discrepant conditions arising during inspection and processing activities.
  • Verifying that processing documentation is complete and adequate for the task prior to commencement.
  • Carrying out receiving inspection of items within the processing areas and to sentence those accordingly, using relevant accept/reject criteria and shelf life data where applicable.

Required skills, qualifications and experience

  • A mixed Mechanical / Electrical (Electromechanical) hands-on Engineering background
  • Inspection experience is desirable
  • Must be able to work as a team member.
  • Have good communicating and influencing skills.
  • Be able to analyse and use evidence in decision making.
  • Be able to adapt to meet changing priorities and deadlines.
  • An SVQ3 or equivalent in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline
