Rapid Rehousing Support Worker Sheffield, England

Roundabout Ltd
Full Time Sheffield, England 28268 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

Can you help us on our mission with giving young people the chance to gain independence and be the best version of themselves? If so, we would love to have you as part of our team!

About the role

In 2018, we began to see young people under the age of 25 sleeping rough for the first time. They immediately became our priority, and the Rapid Rehousing team was developed to help these young people leave life on the streets behind. The team work with young people to build trust in professionals and services, ensuring that these young people can access local support systems. This role will coordinate with services and work with stakeholders to provide support, encouragement and advocacy to enable young people to navigate Roundabout’s Rapid Rehousing service, engage in support and move away from living on the streets.

The role will involve working closely with other homeless services in Sheffield, providing outreach support and actively managing a ‘caseload’ of young people who are ready to move away from living on the streets. You will be the first point of contact with services and support young people who are sleeping rough on a one-to-one basis, tailoring the support to their individual needs. By being a continued single point of contact you will support them in their recovery to find employment, undertake training, cultivate positive social circles and develop the necessary skills to maintain accommodation and independence, ultimately avoiding a return to the streets.
