The Role
As Rapanui continues to grow - we’re on the lookout for a highly talented in-house Graphic Designer to join our team and help take the brand to new heights. Being a designer at Rapanui is more than just creating epic t-shirt designs. It’s about bringing stories to life through compelling, carefully crafted designs, illustrations and prints. If you can take a powerful environmental story, and turn it into something so beautiful that people want to wear it - then we want to hear from you.
You will collaborate with teams on a variety of key projects across the company, bringing fresh creative ideas and delivering high-quality t-shirt designs and supporting creative content.
We’re looking for someone with a background in graphic design, illustration for apparel/fashion - with a natural affinity for fashion. You’ll already have experience as a graphic designer in a professional environment, and your attention to detail will set your work apart from other designers.
Main responsibilities include:
- Creating print designs and collections for the Rapanui brand that work across our range of sustainable apparel.
- Working directly with the Rapanui team contributing to creating fresh creative ideas for new campaigns that will work well as design collections.
- Delivering high-quality, thumb-stopping graphic content that helps promote any new designs and products across multiple channels (social, website, digital ads, video).
- Ensuring design work is completed to a high-quality standard, and delivered on time.
- To collaborate on ideas, concepts and demonstrate leadership to deliver projects on time.
- Ensuring that your designs look epic, both on a T-shirt, and on our website & online channels, working closely with our e-commerce lead on selecting the best photography and layout to do your work justice.
- Assisting in maintaining the upkeep and production of content on our website by optimising, uploading and publishing content, following best practices.
What we’re looking for
- Someone with a natural flair for design, that can demonstrate a versatility in creative design & illustration styles
- Either an undergraduate degree in a relevant creative discipline, or experience of working within a similar role and team.
- Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Illustrator and Photoshop), with experience in newer tools such as Procreate a bonus.
- Finger on the pulse of what’s trending in the t-shirt/fashion world - with a good eye for what people are looking for and what sells.
- Excellent planning skills with strong verbal communication skills & high attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and take on board feedback
- Someone with a can-do attitude who thrives in a challenging project
