Job description
We are looking for full time Band 5 Radiographers to join our Radiology team at East Cheshire NHS Trust. We also welcome applications from students due to qualify this year.
We are a fully digital department, with all plain film rooms and mobile machines being digital. We have 2 GE Evolution CT scanners and a 1.5T Siemens Magnetom Aera. Our Fluoroscopy unit has recently been upgraded to an AGFA hybrid unit and we are in the process of expanding our department through installing a second MRI scanner. Elsewhere within the department, we are in the process of upgrading our PACS systems.
Our Radiology Department is proud to have recently been awarded Dementia Friendly status, with our success being documented on local media. We also have Autism Friendly status with a dedicated Autism link and Well-being champions within the department.
As a department, we support further professional development with encouraging role expansions into advanced practice, reporting, student mentors, apprenticeships, preceptorship and cross-sectional training.
East Cheshire NHS Trust has the appeal of being nestled in the foothills of the picturesque Peak District, with excellent transport links and proximity to the major cities of Manchester and Stoke-on-Trent, ensuring Macclesfield has something for everybody.
37.5 Hours per week
The successful candidate will work in all aspects of plain film Radiography, including A&E, General, Orthopaedics, Mobiles and Theatre. The role will involve undertaking a range of clinical shifts, utilising your skills and knowledge to ensure the department continues to deliver a high standard of service.
A unique aspect of working as a Band 5 Radiographer in our Trust is that you will receive full CT training including IV Cannulation training and will rotate through the CT department on a regular basis.
During their first year of practice, all newly qualified Radiographers will undergo the Trust's recently updated Preceptorship Programme, that has been developed by dedicated Preceptorship Champions to ensure individuals feel valued and supported in their transition into life as a newly qualified autonomous Practitioner.
Whether you are just starting out in your career or are looking to use your skills and experience in a new role, East Cheshire NHS Trust is the right employer for you. An organisation with a real sense of community we actively support and develop our staff to ensure our patients receive the best quality care, delivering the right care first time, every time.
COVID-19 vaccination remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course our patients from the virus when working in our healthcare settings. Whilst COVID-19 vaccination is not a condition of employment at this time, we do encourage our staff to get vaccinated. We will be checking the vaccination status of all new starters so that we can manage individual and environmental risks, and so that we can support those who may be undecided about vaccination. If you are unvaccinated there is helpful advice and information at https://www.eastcheshirehrdirect.nhs.uk
Please be aware that this post requires an Enhanced with Barred list Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which is payable by the successful candidate. If you have lived or worked abroad for 6 months or more in the last 5 years you will need to obtain an overseas police clearance.
