We have an exciting opportunity to join the Lockheed Martin team in Havant, Hampshire as a Radar Cognisant Engineer.

You will work mainly within the engineering team on Radar Systems, with particular focus on the integration of an AEW (Airborne Early Warning) Radar System into the Merlin MK2 Mission System, a programme which Lockheed Martin has been involved with for around 30 years. In addition, you will have opportunities to work both on our existing portfolio of programmes and future capabilities, which we want you to help shape.

You will primarily be home based with occasional travel to the Havant offices and our customer site in Cornwall/Yeovil.

You will experience a wide range of engineering activities including:
  • Leading Requirements Derivation
  • Radar Systems Analysis
  • Develop Radar performance models
  • Review, advise and approve system test plans and acceptance test documentation
  • Modelling and Systems design
  • Translate business requirements into appropriate technical specifications
  • Manage your time and the teams time effectively to develop effective solutions to cost and quality targets
  • Provide technical input to programme management and commercial staff and support where required in the use of LM and industry tools
  • Any additional Programme related tasks assigned that are within area of expertise, competence and skill set.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and suppliers across all levels of the organisation both internally and with the customer

Required skills, qualifications and experience

  • Degree in an engineering discipline or other higher education with equivalent experience
  • Thorough knowledge and significant experience of airborne radar system architectures and system integration.
  • Thorough knowledge and significant experience of radar signal processing and radar performance analysis and modelling.
